The Farm
Enchantingly, uniquely Somerset
Behind the scenes of sparkling weddings and events and fine dining, lies a small and unsuspecting, yet serious and sustainable working farm. In 2024, we completed a new woodland planting of 10,000 trees to help offset the carbon footprint of our weddings and events, as well as create new wildflower meadows, ponds and habitat for wildlife.
On the Pennard House estate sits over 80-acres of cider apple orchards. The apples are farmed to produce several popular local cider varieties, including our very own (very drinkable) ‘Pennard Weasel’ cider.
The remaining 120-acres of sprawling land are dedicated to rewilding and tree planting. We’ve embarked on a journey of planting 10-acres of woodland, over 10,000 trees connecting two existing ancient woodlands. We've planted extensive wildflower meadows, created new ponds and the remaining meadows and grassland are gently grazed to provide a habitat for wildlife.
We do our best to be as sustainable and thoughtful as we can be. We try to source as much local produce and support our local growers where we can. All electricity is from renewable sources and we heat the entire house using wood from fallen trees on the estate.
